The conference will present, evaluate and discuss the exciting contributions that citizen science makes in framing and achieving sustainable development, specifically the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The conference will bring together expertise from policy makers, institutional and citizen scientists, economists, NGOs and civil society to implement mechanisms and processes for the transition towards a more sustainable future.
Importantly, a call for contributions has just opened with a deadline of 13/07/2020: https://www.cs-sdg-conference.berlin/en/call-for-session-contributions.html
The conference is supported by the Science with and for Society programme, co-ordinated by the Berlin Museum for Natural Sciences, and is an official German Presidency Event. A festival of citizen science initiatives will take place alongside the conference.
The Declaration
A Declaration including policy recommendations will result from the conference. The Declaration will act as a voluntary commitment by all partners to define the roles, competences and concrete potentials of Citizen Science to advance the SDGs. It will be formulated in an open and participatory process. If you like to support the preparation of the Declaration with your experiences, wishes and interests, we invite you to participate in our webinars in preparation for the conference. The webinars will be performed with the ECSA. Links for the registration will be activated soon.
